The Ministries of Jubilee United Church fall into 4 Core Ministries: Worship, Belonging, Learning and Service.

Core Ministry Group: Worship

Join us in-person on Sunday mornings at 10:30am (PST) at 6000 Sussex Ave in the heart of Burnaby at Metrotown. Parking is underground beside 4717 Hazel St. United Church parking spaces are 1-29. You may join us for online worship on Zoom: Click here to join worship

The Worship Core Ministry Group task is to oversee the worship life of the congregation. Our responsibilities are: Weekly worship services * Pulpit supply * Music *Choir * Sacraments * Lay readers * Prayer leaders * Offering * Monthly service at St. Michaels * Responding to feedback from the congregation * Accessibility ( children, L’Arche, newcomers , seniors ) * Worship décor, supplies, banners and paraments * Baptism * Communion * Greeters * Connections team *  Welcoming of new members

Core Ministry Group: Belonging

There are many ways you can share your gift of time as a part of the congregation. You can participate in special outreach programs, help make the coffee and tea for coffee time after worship, volunteer as a driver for worship or special events, offer to billet for special events. You could participate in the worship life of St. Michael’s Care Centre and/or L’Arche Community. There are many ways in which we want folks to feel a sense of belonging, and hope to help foster that.

Core Ministry Group: Learning

There are a few ways to participate in the Learning Core Ministry. Whether it is helping out with the Sunday School during church, or the Youth Group, coming out as a family to a Family Matters event, coming to afternoon Bible Study, or coming to the Lenten series, you would be welcome to join – and if you feel like leading, we probably won’t say no! In 2024 we experienced having an Artist-in-Residence (you can check out the community exhibit here)

Core Ministry Group: Service

There are a variety of ways in which Service is lived out at Jubilee.

The Thrift Shop is closed for the summer, but typically open on Thursdays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Donations are gratefully received during office hours (Tuesday – Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm). Please do not leave donations outside the doors. We do not take large furniture. Thank you for your support!
