Weddings
Jubilee United Church is happy to offer a beautiful, dignified, and holy setting in which to celebrate marriage and to provide with some assistance during the preparation time. We will do all we can to ensure that everything goes smoothly and that the couples needs are met to the best of our ability. Jubilee’s services are available for all couples that may be legally married in the Province of British Columbia. Our ministers are also happy to perform wedding ceremonies outside of the church building.
Funerals & Memorials
During this difficult time, it can seem overwhelming trying to ensure that all of the details for the funeral or memorial service for your loved one are taken care of. Jubilee United Church is glad to offer you a dignified and holy setting in which to celebrate the life of the one who has died and to provide you with some assistance during this time. We will work with you to ensure that everything goes smoothly and that your needs are met to the best of our ability. Our ministers are also honoured to preside at funerals and memorials outside of the church building; we often work with Ocean View and Forest Lawn Funeral Homes.
Baptisms
Baptisms are a sacred event which take place during a community worship service. If there are extenuating circumstances, it is possible for alternatives, but that is the exception, not the rule. If the baptism is of a child, one or both of the parents must be members in good standing of the congregation; if not, a sponsor from the congregation must be willing to be in relationship with the family. This should not discourage anyone from speaking with the congregational minister, as it is simply intended to help create and form relationship.
